Sea Scout Ship Columbia RangerColumbia MarylandCatoctin Winter Training Weekend |
The Chesapeake Flotilla Wardroom sponsors a skills and leadership training weekend every Martin Luther King birthday weekend in January at Camp Round Meadows (near Camp David, the presidential retreat in the Catoctin Mountains of Western Maryland). The Sea Scouts have an opportunity to learn and get tested on many skills in a concentrated period of time. Some of these skills are not easily taught back home since they require specialized equipment or instructors. Sea Scouts (175 in all) from four states came for a weekend of training, fellowship, and fun. We're already making plans to come back next year.
