Sea Scout Ship Columbia Ranger Columbia Maryland Henry I Nygard Area Regatta

The Chesapeake Flotilla Wardroom Sea Scouting sponsors a weekend of nautical competition called the Henry I. Nygard Area Regatta every year over the Memorial Day weekend. The 35th annual Nygard Regatta was held at Naval Station Annapolis on the shores of the Severn River directly across from the U.S. Naval Academy. Thirteen Ships from Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia competed in roughly two dozen events. Competition was intense but very friendly.

The results of the weekend were as follows:

First place: S.S.S. Sea Eagle, Avenue Maryland
Second place: S.S.S. Columbia Ranger, Columbia Maryland
Third place: S.S.S. Arcturus, Westover West Virginia

We had a great time and can't wait till next year to try again.
